What have our developers been up to?
Completed and pending deployment – Mobile App:
The ability for students to download and share CVs
Placements ended early now update to ended rather than active
The ability to view and share employer appraisals
In development – Mobile App (For January release):
The ability to search and apply for placement opportunities
The ability to submit and view placement student feedback
An enhanced Work Personality questionnaire. Redesigned for improved user experience and engagement
Completed and deployed – Web App:
Multiple updates to the Data Exchange Service – DES
Multiple updates to the role and risk-assessment functionality
Careers activity access and view rights updated
In development – Web App:
New filters on status tables
Dashboard ‘Placement Progress’ – The ability to cross-reference vs previous years performance
Bespoke email/document service
As part of our ongoing commitment to you, we have extended the opportunities bolt-on for all of our clients for 6 months at no additional cost.

Virtual Work Experience Developments
Building on the work of the structured Changing Education virtual programme, we have invested significantly in ensuring our Mobile App and Web platform is fit for purposes. Here is a snippet of some of the key changes:
Enhanced ‘Search for opportunities’ screen to include Virtual opportunities from a range of providers
Applications tracked as Careers-Activity to allow you to manage and track student activity
Connect Web will track all engagement and report back as attendance activity

This week’s session will focus on getting the most out of CONNECT during the lockdown, and how specific functionality will help you prepare for meaningful work placements post COVID-19.
Our team of college ambassadors will be sharing best practices on how work-based learning teams can effectively deliver employer engagement, work placements, and risk management during this lockdown.

The Changing Education team have been working hard to develop a meaningful virtual work experience programme in partnership with multiple colleges, most recently Croydon & Coulsdon college. Please take a couple of minutes to watch the above video in preparation for our webinar which will showcase a meaningful outcomes focussed approach in action.
This week’s webinar will concentrate on how staff can log placement opportunities to CONNECT. This includes advertising placement opportunities via the Student App which students can apply for. We will also focus on how staff can approve and deny any placement opportunity student application.
This week’s webinar will concentrate on navigating the Dashboard and Department Home Page Statistics. In addition, we will focus on the Work Placement Status tables and how staff can effectively manage, track, evaluate and report on all aspects of work-based learning and careers provision.
